Finally I could find a momento to update the website, and I created a new footer with Elementor Pro, and then changed the "Default" option in the theme's custom options, to template, choosing the Footer template, that shows correctly there.
But then, the footer totally disappears in the website, so I had to get back to the default option. But I really rather to work with the Elementor designed footer, and in theory, this should work.
Please, could you tell me if there is something am I missing?

I've just fixed the issue by duplicating the footer template and naming it "Footer N", so please go and test now the footer, if you add your template at Customize > Footer > General > Type > Template, it will appear on your site.
