Placeholder Image not there/not working

    Hey!
I just installed the Bifrost theme on my wordpress website. I wanted to use "Interactive Parallax" for my home page. However, once I import the data (through the OneClick plugin) and I opened the page to start editing with Elementor, none of the pictures are there (and still aren't as you can see on https://andreaernst.ch or in the screenshot attached to this ticket).

I installed the theme twice to see if it was a one time issue, but no matter which "Interactive Parallax" Page I set as the main page in settings, it has the same issue.

    Hi,

It seems that the demo wasn't imported correctly, can I reset your site and re-import the demo data, but notice that after the reset, everything will be deleted.

Is there any page that you've created that you don't want to lose because after the reset everything will be deleted? If you have any, please attach the URL here so I can save it on my device and then import it.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

Thank you for letting me know.

Yes, you can reset everything on Andreaernst.ch

    Hi,

It worked (sorry for late reply)!

I have another question. I don't really get where I can change the placeholder image in the background of the interactive parallax theme.

I tried in Elementor with the background image but it doesn't work either, it's just being put over the placeholder image instead of replacing it. Where can I change it?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

I am very sorry for the late reply, we were not working on the weekend.

The images that are displayed on the Interactive post are portfolio items, and they are linked through categories to the portfolio element. The images that are displayed for the portfolio item are placed on the featured image of each portfolio item.

So, you need to navigate to Dashboard > Portfolio items and change the featured images of the items.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

  • mirobarth06 replied

    Thank you very much!

How do I know which portfolio item is used on my theme (in my case, interactive parallax)?
Or do I just have to try to change all of them to see which ones work?

    Hi,

Please go to the Interactive Post widget and check from which categories you're displaying the projects, and then you can change the featured images of only the projects that have the category that's called on the page.

    Hey!
The Placeholder images are in the background and therefore not part of an image, at least as far as I can tell from my very limited WP experience.
Maybe there was a misunderstanding? I'm using the interactive parallax landing page, not the one for blog posts etc.

    Hey!
Another question - Where can I edit the footer of pages? I used google but sadly it only says I have to use theme builder, which requires premium elementor. But I'm sure there's another way, right?

    Hi,

In the theme you can either use the footer that comes as default or via Elementor where you can create footers and assign them to different pages.

So, if you want to have the same footer on all the websites, you can set it at Appearance > Customize > Footer (https://prnt.sc/WU15OtsRmBH4), and if a page has a different footer, you have to check the page footer settings and make sure that the settings are set to be inherited (https://prnt.sc/PmX_Qm-5mizt) from the theme settings (from Customizer > Footer ).

You can create a footer template with Elementor by going to Dashboard > Templates > Add New > Footer, then you can assign it to the pages as mentioned above (https://prnt.sc/yC1VeqSNXEDy).

    Hey!

Two other questions just came up.

First question: How can I change the header of these pages: https://andreaernst.ch/about-personal & https://andreaernst.ch/ueber-di-goudigi-frucht to the same header as in https://andreaernst.ch ? They somehow seem to have the same header as the shop, even though they're not the shop page.

The second question is if there's the possibility to change the add to cart button within the theme. As of rn it's this + - button thing (which sadly doesn't even work properly, at least the buttons don't), but I wanna change it to a simple button saying "Add to Cart". If that's possible, how can I do it? Or is that something that's not theme related?

Edit: Edited to rewrite the first question.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    1) In the theme you can either use the header that comes as default where you can upload the logo from Customizer and manage it from there or via Elementor where you can create headers and assign them to different pages, so please hover over button Edit with Elementor and see if there appears a header template. https://prnt.sc/ppaaad

Click on the template and the editor for that template will be opened where you can easily edit it.

    - Video Tutorials about header builder.

    2) The Add to Cart button in your shop has the text Add To Cart, so, have you managed to solve it or am I missing something?

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply! Regarding the add to cart buttons. I'm talking about the ones in the product pages themselves as seen in this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/wG-Pir1o9LF1

Instead of the + - buttons and one "add to cart" (here "In den Warenkorb" which means basicallly the same, it's just in german) button, I just want a "add to cart" button on the left side of every single product inside the grouped product.

Hope you get what I mean.

EDIT: THIS WAS SOLVED. It's part of the theme, I'm just stupid. (Also, can you see my other, private reply? It's regarding another website of mine and I'm really struggling with the issue that I described.)

Edit: Another issue just came up.

I switched to the same header as on my main page (same header template) where it's working (main page: https://andreaernst.ch). However, on my other page it's just black (https://andreaernst.ch/about-personal/) any idea why that's happening

    Hi,

    1) Glad to know.

    2) I've just fixed it by going to edit the page on Elementor's editor > Page Settings > Style tab > Background > Type > Color, and added a white color there, can you please take a look at it?

    Hi,

Thanks for changing it. However, I want it to be transparent (so it shows the same yellow gradient as in the rest of the page. Basically the same as on the homepage as seen in this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/ygg2ecwbxZ2-

Now I just changed the style to transparent, but somehow the background is black as shown in this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/_aP4iDVrwwLB

Do you know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

    Thanks.

  • mirobarth06 replied

    Also,

I still do not know how to change the button to add items. I want to change this button: https://prnt.sc/d42nDqd-1B3E

    to something like this: https://prnt.sc/d42nDqd-1B3E

Thanks. Please make sure to also read my other questions that I wrote a few hours prior to this reply.

    Hi,

I'm sorry for the late reply, we've had some holidays in my country, we'll try to cover as much as possible from now.

    1) As for the product buttons, we can't change the "+ & -" to add to cart, as they're for quantity, they allow you to increase the number of products that you want to add to the cart.

    2) As for the header background color, you need to add the color in the background of the header section, as the header has its own container, if the header had the position set to absolute, then we could let its background be transparent as it would have the background of the page, otherwise, we need to keep it like it is now, with the color on the background of the section.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

    Hope you had great holidays!

My question is not how the button(s) work, my question is how can I change the button. I want to remove the - + button and replace it with a "add to cart" button (instead of the quantity buttons and an add to cart button at the very bottom).

    How can I do this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am very sorry for the late reply, we were not working on the weekend.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, you can remove the quantity from the product singles by adding the following CSS at Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.

    .single-product  form.cart div.quantity {
        display: none !important;
    }

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Now the button is gone (screenshot: https://prnt.sc/sL27uAl-kKJZ ), but there's no button to add the items to the cart (the one at the very bottom causes an error, saying that there were no quantities selected, which is obvious I guess). Is it possible to add one? So that there's one button to the left of each product you know?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am very sorry for the late reply, we were not working on the weekend.

Hiding the quantity input field might be causing the issue because WooCommerce requires a quantity to be specified when adding a product to the cart. However, there are ways to work around this.

One solution could be to set a default quantity behind the scenes. For example, you could use JavaScript to automatically set the quantity to 1 when the "Add to Cart" button is clicked. This way, the quantity is still being provided to WooCommerce, but it's hidden from the user.

So, can we add some script on your site, we can try to install a plugin that allows us to add custom scripts and then try to add some code?
