    Hi dear Neuron Team
How can I show only my portfolio categories in a separate page, where my audience can first choose the type (category) and click on it and the see all the works in that particular category in a new page?

because when I put the portfolio element in a page, it shows all my works in all categories

    thanks

    Hi,

You can create a page and then add the names of the categories there and link them with the category pages, as you can't display category pages with the Post widget, after you create that page, you can create an archive page and set it to be displayed on the portfolio categories page.

To create a page and add the names of the categories with links to the category pages using Elementor, you can follow these steps:

    1. Create a new page using Elementor: In your WordPress dashboard, go to "Pages" and click on "Add New." Then, click on the "Edit with Elementor" button to start building your page with the Elementor editor.
    2. Add a Text or Heading widget: In the Elementor editor, drag and drop a Text or Heading widget onto the page. This will be where you list the names of your portfolio categories.
    3. Enter the category names and add links: Double-click on the Text or Heading widget to edit its content. Type the names of your portfolio categories, separating them with commas or line breaks. For each category name, highlight the text and click on the "Link" button in the formatting options above. Enter the URL of the respective category page and click "Apply" or "Update" to save the changes.
    4. Customize the appearance (optional): You can further customize the style, font, color, and layout of the Text or Heading widget using the Elementor options panel on the left-hand side. Adjust the design to match your website's theme and branding.
    5. Create the category pages: Now, you need to create individual category pages to display the works in each category. You can create these pages as regular WordPress pages or use the Elementor templates to design them.
    6. Link the category names to the respective category pages: In the Text or Heading widget on your main portfolio categories page, make sure the links correspond to the correct category pages you've created. Ensure the URLs are accurate and point to the specific category page where the works are displayed.
    7. Set the archive page: If you want to create an archive page to display all the portfolio works collectively, you can do so using Neuron's Archive Posts widget. Drag and drop the widget onto a new page, customize its settings to display your portfolio items, and set this page as the archive page to be displayed on the portfolio categories page.
    8. Publish the page: Once you're satisfied with the content and design of your portfolio categories page, click on the "Publish" button to make it live on your website.

Remember to save and update your changes regularly as you work on the page. You can preview the page before publishing to ensure everything looks and functions as intended.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

I mean, considering this is a common thing on almost all wordpress themes, I'd imagine having a page that queries a single portfolio category i.e /portfolio-category/my-category to retrieve all portfolio matching that single category would be a no brainer.

The steps you oultined as the "solution" is waay too cumbersome for something as fundamentally basic as this.

    Ha!

Edit: Because currently, your own portfolio category detail page is listing blog posts: https://neuronthemes.com/floona/portfolio_category/editorial/

    Come on!

    Hi @seanmavley,

I wanted to clarify how the portfolio categories page functions by default. It automatically displays portfolios based on the category you're currently viewing. So, when you're in a specific category, the relevant portfolios are shown.

However, I understand that you're looking for a way to create a page that lists all categories by name or in a specific order, and when a category is clicked, it takes you to that category's page to display the portfolios within it. Currently, there isn't a theme option that provides this feature.

I suggested this approach to Ehsan because, while it may not be the best practice, it's one of the limited options available to achieve the desired functionality.

Regarding the issue with portfolio categories not displaying correctly in the Floona demo, it was a cache problem. I've cleared the cache for the demo, and now it should properly display the portfolios within the portfolio category.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards
