Using NeuronElements with a Page Builder

    Hi,

I am building my web page with the Dendrite theme and using WPBakery Page Builder. When using the page builder, I noticed that I am able to add an element called "NeuronElements", in addition to the basic Row, Text Block, Icon, etc. elements. What are these NeuronElements?

I am trying to switch from WPBakery Page Builder to Visual Composer, but I would like to be able to use these NeuronElements to create my page. However, I am not sure how to add a NeuronElement with Visual Composer.

Please let me know if this doesn't make sense.

    Hi Eric Liftin,

Unfortunately, you can add any NeuronElement via the Visual Composer, because we've created them only for WP Bakery Page Builder, but if you need any help to achieve anything that can't be done via the general elements that are included in the Visual Composer please tell us and we can see with what we can help you.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

If I were to use WP Bakery Page Builder with the the other neuron themes, do they contain these custom NeuronElements as well?

I am having a lot of issues with WP Bakery Page Builder/Dendrite slowing down my page, which is why I'm looking to switch to Visual Composer. Are there known issues with either the WP Bakery Page Builder or Dendrite slowing down a wordpress site?

    Hi Eric Liftin,

These are some of our themes that use WPBakery Page Builder and the others use Elementor, so there's not a theme that was created with the Visual Composer, so, unfortunately, you can't use the WPBakery Page Builder NeuronElements on the Visual Composer editor.

I would suggest you three things about how to increase the speed of your website.

    1) Compress images to lower resolutions and smaller image sizes.

    2) Use a cacher(we use w3 total cacher). https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/

    - Right after install go to general settings and enable page cache.

    3) Install autoptimize to combine all CSS files in one file and all JS files in one file, just like we do in our demo.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

Thank you, this is really helpful. Can you tell me what are the other Neuron Themes that use WPBakery Page Builder?

    Hi Eric Liftin,

The other themes that use the WPBakery Page Builder plugin are:

    • Proton
    • Mango
    • Crate
    • Dendrite
    • Soma

You can take a look at them by going to the following link.

    Hi,

Thanks for the continued help. I am using the Neuron Element "Portfolio", and using the sortable function. I have Portfolio categories added to each item and I am able to sort, however I am running into a bug.

When all my portfolio elements aren't loaded, the filter won't show those items. I have to scroll all the way down the page to make sure each portfolio item is loaded before I can sort them. Is this the expected behavior?

    Hi Eric Liftin,

Can you please provide me with the URL of your website, I will have a quick look to see what's going on.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. This seems to no longer be an issue, but I have another question. For each portfolio item the navigation (next-prev) button appears at the bottom of the page. Is there any way to move those buttons higher up on the page?

For example, on this page: https://wordpress-619163-2009924.cloudwaysapps.com/index.php/portfolio/atrium-house-2/

I would like the next and previous buttons to appear before the "recent progress" separator and blog cards.

    Thanks!

My other question is if there's an easy way to edit the post category page. I would like to show a full feed of these blog cards with images instead of just a snippet.

    Hi Eric Liftin,

I am very sorry for the late reply, we were not working on the weekend.

Can you please provide me with your wp-admin, I will have a quick look to see what's going on.

    Hi,

Sorry I do not feel comfortable providing my wp-admin login. Would it be possible to answer this question over this thread?

Basically I am trying to do this: move the next/prev buttons generated by dendrite from the bottom of the page to the middle of the page. Is there any way to do that with WP Bakery? Or perhaps and plugin I could download? I'm comfortable modifying the PHP as well if that's what it takes.

Let me know if the screenshots don't make sense.

    Thanks!

    Hi Eric Liftin,

Okay don't worry, I was just asking for your wp-admin so I could make some live testing on your site but don't worry about it.

Can you please go and overwrite the single-portfolio.php file with the attached one.

Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Eric Liftin,

I just take a deep look into your website, and unfortunately, we can't change the place of the navigation, because you've added the related posts inside the content of the portfolio, and there are only two options, we can move the navigation at the top of content or we can let it below as it is.

    Hi,

Is there a way to implement a hierarchy in the search function so that it will search and output on the results page (with the featured images) in this order:

portfolio titles, portfolio content, post content

instead of in order of date. Is there a file I could overwrite the default search.php file with?

    Thank you

    Hi,

Is there also a way to enable the thumbnail sizer for portfolio images so that the image is cropped and not resized/distorted?

    Thanks

  •  933
    Neuron replied

    Hi Eric Liftin,

If you are using thumbnail sizer after finishing the posts, you have to regenerate their thumbnails, follow the instructions below to regenerate thumbnails.

    1. Install the plugin Regenerate Thumbnails.
    2. Go to Tools > Regen. Thumbnails and press the button Regenerate All Thumbnails.

    Hi,

Thanks for your continued help. I also have a question about your blog post cards. I am using them on this page: https://wordpress-619163-2009924.cloudwaysapps.com/index.php/portfolio/atrium-house-alt-layout-2/

But when I scroll down on the left-hand container, the blog cards that are lower down don't load properly. I've attached screenshots

    Hi Eric Liftin,

I've added the following code at Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS, can you please take a look at it?

    .post-gallery .owl-carousel .post-content {
        visibility: visible !important;
    }

  • Eric Liftin replied

    Hi,

That didn't work exactly but I added that custom CSS to the page itself and it seems to be working great. Thanks!
