OK, I have played with the default and a template. I can't get the automated copyright text on the template, so it reads the current year. If I use the default footer, I can't have the one column version have the content spread across the width. Nor can I change the colour of the background of the default. Can you help?

We can combine something in JavaScript to get the current year, please provide us with your wp-admin and we'll add it, so you can see how it's done
