    Hi,

I wonder what images sizes are most optimal to use for the portfolio featured image and the images on the portfolio item page like Avebury?

I see different sizes - place holder image for the demo pages is 1000x1000px and on the example site Portfolio Wide Images its different sizes like 500x500, 800x800 but must are 850x850px and on the portfolio item page Avebury its 850px wide.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am very sorry for the late reply, I hope for understanding in these times, I hope you and your family are safe.

It all depends on the columns, for example if you're using 3 columns, using 500x500 would be enough, 2 columns 700x700 and so on.

The grid total is 1340pixels(unless you've changed it).

If you can highlight me with a screenshot, I can give you the suggested image size.

    Kind Regards

It was not a late reply, it was very fast :-)

    Its on these pages:

    https://neuronthemes.com/bifrost/portfolio-wide-images/
    https://neuronthemes.com/bifrost/portfolio/avebury/

I guess its same size/image used on both page.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    No worries, you're welcome anytimesmile.png

    Portfolio Wide Image: 500x500

    Avebury: 900x900

These resolutions are only meant to look sharp and good in all devices.

    Kind Regards

I'm a bit puzzled about this thumbnail resizer.

When setting the resizer are the images only affected by CSS and not actually resizing the images meaning change the pixel resolution?

I can see that other sizes are generated for different viewports.

Shouldn't the thumbnail actually be resized?
Then the big portfolio item image could be used and generated in smaller size.

    See attached.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Please try to regenerate the thumbnails.

You can do that via the plugin.

The problem can be that image sizes that are added after image is uploaded, it isn't ready for use. So when you regenerate thumbnails, every missing thumbnail will be created.

    Kind Regards

    Yes you're right.
Still I added the featured images after the resizer was set but the image I checked was not down sampled , others was okay.
I removed and added it again but it seems that does not regenerate the thumbnail.

Using the plugin made it correct.

    Thanks!

Just a final confirmation about thumbnail resizer is there global settings in the customizer for portfolio and blog but not for pages?

For pages you have to set it on each page with Elementor.

    Thanks!

    Yes thats already solved.

About the thumbnail resizer is there a global setting for pages as for portfolio and blog in customizer?
I can not find that in customizer, only in Elementor for each page separate.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am sorry for the late reply.

Unfortunately the thumbnail resizer is only in the posts element, there's something globally(the image sizes), you can define them at Appearance > Customize > General > Settings.

    Kind Regards
