I am building a freelance design portfolio using Bifrost and I am struggling with one thing. I am using the Freelance Home layout for a home page and Vertical Portfolio v6 for Portfolio Item layout. I cannot find through Elementor or WordPress interface where and how to create and assign a Portfolio category. The demo content has Branding, Creative and Design setup and assigned to placeholder items that link to a Portfolio Item page. But I can't find even in the demo items where the categories are assigned. Help please!?
The images that are displayed on the portfolio element are portfolio items, they are linked through categories to the portfolio element. The images that are displayed for the portfolio item are placed on featured image of each portfolio item.
The following example shows a posts element in which are attached 'Apps', 'Development' and 'Editing' categories, which means all the portfolio items that have assigned one of these categories will be directly displayed on that page.
One more thing is the Metro Layout Type in which the posts are manually added via query field, the reason why they are manually added there is because of their flexibility for columns.
I do understand the basics of how the portfolio and portfolio items and categories work. However, if you see my original post, I cannot find where and how to create a new category. And, where in an individual portfolio item to assign a category. I am building a site based on demo content you created. Specifically the Freelance Home layout and Vertical Portfolio 6 item. Even in the Freelance Home page it is unclear where you choose which categories to display. These specific demo pages do not reflect the sample that you sent me. (see the attached screenshot of Freelance Home)
Please go to Portfolio > New Portfolio Item and from there you can create a new portfolio item, on the right sidebar of the portfolio, you'll be able to select the category for that portfolio item or add new.
You can also install the following plugin, it allows you to duplicate the posts(portfolio items) and every other post type on your WordPress.
