    Hi!

    I have been working with your theme for a couple of days now and I'm liking it a lot so far. I would love your advice on the following:

    1.  What I would like to create is a page with photos in columns but with the option to filter those photos into several categories (similar to the 'Portfolio Personal' demo). I see that I could accomplish this with the 'Posts' widget in Elementor and by adding categories next to 'Query' but that would mean that I have to create a post (with categories) for every picture while I would rather have the photos open to the media file instead of a post. Could you give me some advice on what the easiest way would be to accomplish this? Because I would really like to have one page with all my photos with the options to filter them instead of having to divide the photos onto several pages if that makes sense.

    2. When I make an image gallery or portfolio the photos are all aligned underneath each other (so one column) instead of in several columns and rows like I chose in the options. How can I solve this? Also, is there a way to display the images in their own original shape instead of cropped to a square?

    Thank you so much for your time!

    Yours sincerely,

    Sam

    Another question I have is:

    3. I can't seem to make the header sticky like it is on the 'Portfolio Personal' demo for example. I went to customising -> header -> layout and chose the following settings:
    - visibility: show
    - type: template
    - template: a header that I created
    - position: static
    - transparency: sticky
    - sticky template: tried both the same header as above and other ones (without result)
    - autohide: on

    Can you help me to figure out what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you!

    Sam

    Hi,

    1) You can use the media gallery element, it works same as the posts, except you have a repeater as a query and you add the images one by one.

    2) Sure, simply disable the thumbnail resizer which is located in the posts(or media gallery) element and select the layout Isotope then layout model Masonry.

    3) Please check on the page settings of that page, the options are located in two places in pages and in customizer(global settings for all pages), so in individual pages you can choose if you want to inherit those values from the customizer or set them custom for each page, it could be that the page that you're looking to change is not inheriting these values.

    Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

    Thank you so much for the quick reply and for your help!

    1) That's great! Thank you for the tip. Would you mind clarifying for me where I can find the repeater in which I have to add the filters?

    2) Cool. However, when I add an image gallery I don't see the options to select the layout Isotope and model masonry. Are these options supposed to be there?

    3) Could you clarify where exactly in the individual pages I can choose to inherit the values from the customiser?

    I'm a total newbie to this theme so thank you in advance for your time and patience.

    Hi Sam,

    You're welcome anytime, feel free to ask for anything you need.

    You can check the documentation for the media gallery element.

    - https://neuronthemes.com/documentation/bifrost/#page_builder_media_gallery

    1) You can select the filters on the filter tab. http://prntscr.com/o0vgrd Make sure to add categories on the Media.

    2) The options are located in the functionality tab. http://prntscr.com/o0vh1s

    3) Simply edit the page with normal editor.

    - http://prntscr.com/o0vhf7

    - http://prntscr.com/o0vhin

    You can see the options under the content area.

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

    Thanks again for the additional information.

    1) I understand you can select the filters but there are no filters to choose from since there are "no results found", understandably because I have to add these categories/filters somewhere and my question therefore is: where can I add these "categories on the Media"?

    2) I see a print screen of the Media Gallery but I am talking about the Image Gallery. In the Image Gallery there is no functionality tab and even if I change the 'thumbnail' setting to something different, the images are still cropped to a square and they align underneath each other instead of in several columns.

    3) I will check that out!

    I appreciate your help!

    Sam

    Hi Sam,

    1) Please check on the media categories at WordPress dashboard, at Media > Media Categories, you'll be able to add categories there.

    2) Image gallery is a very default element which comes from Elementor, I would recommend you using Media Gallery Element for more advanced usage of the galleries.

    3) That's the subtitle, please check on the subtitle options in the style.

    Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

    Hi!

    Thank you again for helping me.

    1) Great, that was very helpful! solved

    2) Good to know, thank you! solved

    3) Yes, I know where to change the subtitle, thank you. The problem I'm having however is that when I change the subtitle in style -> subtitle (among other things I set the style to normal instead of italic and I adjusted the line height, etc.) and update and go to see the actual page, the changes to the subtitle don't show up (the subtitles are still italic and the line height doesn't match my settings). Please see the 2 screenshots of my previous post to see the difference between my settings in the elementor editor and the actual page after updating. What can I do about this?

    Thank you for your help!

    1) One more question about the Media Gallery filters: is it possible to change the order in which these filters appear? Whichever order I add in 'Filters Query' they automatically are re-ordered alphabetically and I would like to have them in a different order. Thank you!

    Hey,

    For the taxonomy order, I would suggest you this plugin.

    - https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-taxonomy-ordering/

    You'll be able to drag & drop them in the back-end dashboard.

    Also, for the subtitle. Can you please provide me with an URL, so I can check what's going on with the selectors.

    Kind Regards

    With the plugin you mentioned I managed to order the categories in media -> media categories but it has not changed anything on the frontend. I've tried re-ordering them in elementor as well but the categories still automatically order alphabetically.

    Hi Sam,

    Sorry again, for messing it up.

    No worries, the database will remain the same, only the theme will change. The maximum execution can lead to many issues, please talk to your host providers and tell them to change it.

    Install also the version that I have attached in the attachments in the previous reply.

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I've uploaded the file you sent me into the wp-content -> themes folder in my Direct Admin and activated the theme in Wordpress. The aforementioned problems persist so I'm a bit at my wits' end to be honest.

    Subtitle
    I'm trying to change the 'style' (to normal) and the 'line height' (to 0,5) of the subtitle in the media gallery but whatever I do I see the changes in the backend (elementor editor) but nothing changes in the frontend. I've noticed that if I change anything else in the Subtitle tab, like the colour, decoration or colour spacing the changes do show up in the frontend! So I'm surprised as to why the ones I need to work are not working.

    Categories/filters
    This remains the same: filters/categories order alphabetically, even after changing the order in the backend (media categories).

    Your help would be very much appreciated!

    Hi Sam,

    I am truly sorry, I am not able to find the reason why the issue is happening, I'll offer you two other solutions for both of them, please re-consider using them until I found why they're happening.

    1) Use the following selector to change the front properties.

    .m-media-gallery.m-media-gallery--meta-inside .m-media-gallery__item .o-neuron-hover-holder .o-neuron-hover-holder__body .o-neuron-hover-holder__body-meta .o-neuron-hover__body-meta__subtitle {
        // font properties
    }

    2) It seems not to be working with the media categories

    .m-filters ul {
        display: flex;
    } .m-filters ul li:nth-child(2) { // This is for the second filter
        order: 3;
    } .m-filters ul li:nth-child(3) { // This is for the third filter
        order: 2;
    }

    You can order as you wish, sorry for finding this solution, we're working on fixing these two issues.

    Feel free to ask for anything you need.

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

    Thank you for the code and for all the help so far. With the help of a developer I was able to figure out how to implement these codes and with that it seems to have solved the problems I had so that's great.

    Would love to hear back once the solutions to these problems have been found.
