Please check if that is the post that you're trying to edit is the same with the one in the portfolio, also is the image being removed when you refresh the page and check it again?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand your message. I am not trying to edit a post. I would like to be able to replace the stock image on each page of my website with a photo of mine. I can't find how to change the image banner at the top of the page.
Where do I find page settings>general? It is not on the wp-admin menu.
I am trying to change my featured image. When I do this through the tool bar, I save it but the new image does not appear when I preview.
