Ok, I'm almost finished with my site (and hopefully my questions! :) ) but I was wondering is it possible to have the lightbox active in the blog when I add galleries?

The gallery can be activate within the portfolio element when you choose the hover style to Gallery. http://prntscr.com/nb1nm7 You can place the element wherever you like, below you blog post or anywhere.
I'm sorry if I didn't get your question well, if you meant to have lightbox in the blog element, that won't be possible.
