The logo is placed on the Appearance > Customizer > Header > Logo, if you want further customization on the header, please check the following videos, it explains how to create a header which can be fully created with Elementor.
What they don't tell you is how to optain the template id number... I found that if you export the template you get the template id in the first number of the json file.
I'm trying via the wordpress editor but it looks like its overriden in the Elementor/Bifrost. Can't really see where to edit it
I'm trying to edit the Bifrost logo there and the info.
Additionally can't see a way to have a social links menu somewhere on the page which is usually pretty simple on other themes.

Also is there a way to get a separate menu for the socials that could be added as the top bar above the header?

It works all the same for the footer too, the same options are simply placed on the footer.
You can create the top bar in the templates of the header with the menu.

The line at the top? If that is not built via the elementor, you can simply add the following style.
.l-primary-footer { border-top: none !important;
}

Hello, came to this post looking for an answer to how to edit the footer and Social Links Bar, but don't see it here.
So far I've found that there is an elementor template in use inside the Footer SideBar 4:
<h6 style="font-weight: 900;">Social Media</h6>
[elementor-template id="18893"]
So in the End, they are using a Template Library from elementor.

You can simply edit the template that we have created that via a template.
Simply hover onto the Edit with Elementor button. http://prntscr.com/nfbyh5
After that select the Footer Social Icons and you'll be able to edit them. http://prntscr.com/nfbyos
