Hi, I'm editing my portfolio page using Elementor, and I can't seem to get rid of the boxes used for inserting images using the wordpress editor. Also, how do I get rid of the social media icons that also appear?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Happy new year, we wish you all the best in 2022.

    1) Can you please provide me with your wp-admin, I will have a quick look to see what's going on.

    2) Please go to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Portfolio > Portfolio Item > Share Icons and set it to "Hide".

    Hi,

As you have added the portfolio images through Elementor, I've set the portfolio item template to Elementor, and now the boxes at the bottom are gone.

I've also customized a bit the section on Elementor by adding some padding to it.

Hi, I have another question... This is about the main page with the projects grid. How can I make the grid into a masonry layout, so that the thumbnails adapt and fit together without huge gaps in between? Or do I have to make a whole other page for that?

Thanks and sorry for the trouble!

    Hi,

Please go to the Homepage > Post Element > Layout type and set it to "Masonry".

Thanks! That sort of worked. Some elements now have the full thumbnail size (square, rectangular, whichever it is) but others get cropped into a square anyway... Why does this happen? Thanks.

    Hi,

I am very sorry for the late reply, we were not working on the weekend.

That is because the portfolio item thumbnails are getting their real size, so the size of the image that you've uploaded.

I see. But they aren't the real size, because then they wouldn't be square, right? They'd be the right size and no part of the image would be cropped.

    Hi,

You can take a look at the attached screenshot, some of the images that you've uploaded as the featured images of the portfolio items are squared.

EDIT: Just realized that the Thumbnail resizer was ticket in the settings. Sorry for the trouble.

Hi, yes that is correct. However, other images are not squared and they do appear so in the thumbnails.

If you check the screenshot you will see it's cropped. The image uploaded was not cropped.

    Thanks!
